Asha, born on March 07, 1979 in a small village called Moti Paneli in Rajkot district, Gujarat, India, had her schooling from the same village where the medium of instruction was Gujarati. The languages she has officially studied are Gujarati, Hindi, English and Sanskrit.
Her academic credentials include B.A. (English literature) from Saurashtra University; M. A. (English literature); B. Ed. (English& Sanskrit); M. Phil. (Poetry Translation) and Ph. D. (Fiction Translation)from Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar.
Her 16 year of teaching experience as an Assistant Professor has exposed her to the subjects like Business Communication, Language Skills, Communication Skills, Presentation Skills, Publicity, Public Relations and some prescribed literary texts as well. Along with academic and non-academic activities she is also motivated to present research papers at International as well as at National Seminars. She was fortunate to be invited by South Yorkshire University, UK to study their education system in 2011. This offered her an opportunity to visit an A Grade school in London, Sheffield University, Leeds Metropolitan University and South Yorkshire University and more remarkably Shakepeare’s birthplace Stratford-upon-Avon. There are some ISSN& ISBN publications into her credit. She was a founder RJ at Sardar Patel University Radio Campus in 2004.
Her academic interests are reading, creative writing and literary translation. One of the major non-academic interests is community services for which she has been honoured with Aantarrashtriya Yuva Pratibha Award by Lohana Mahaparishad in 2013,followed by Aantarrashtriya Sanshodhan Pratibha Award in 2015.
Mrs. Karia currently lives with her husband Mayur and their son Madhav in Vadodara, Gujarat.
Her grandmother and parents have a great impact on her value system. The ideology that enforces her to move ahead is that Life is a journey from ‘I’ to ‘Better I’.
