Asha Virendra Shah holds a B.Sc. degree and has nurtured a life long passion for literature, music, and acting. She is an accomplished writer, contributing across diverse literary forms including short stories, essays, children’s stories, humorous articles, and plays. Her articles frequently appear in the Mumbai-based newspaper Janmabhoomi–Pravasi, while her short stories are regularly published under the column Aasav. Since 2010, she has been writing the featured short story on the last page of the fortnightly Sarvodaya magazine Bhoomiputra, published from Vadodara. Collections of 40 of her stories from Bhoomiputra have been released in book form under the titles Tarpan (Parts 1–4) and Janinana Haiyama. She has co-edited two storybooks focusing on adolescent girls and women—Adithi Bhoyna Rata Phool and Ganthe Bandhya Aganphool—with Bakula Ghaswala. Under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, she authored children’s storybooks Meghdhanushi Pankho and Khobo Bharine Khushi, and has also translated articles and books.
આશા વિરેન્દ્ર શાહે બી.એસ્સી.ની ડિગ્રી પ્રાપ્ત કરી છે અને સાહિત્ય, સંગીત તથા અભિનય પ્રત્યે જીવનભરનો રસ જાળવી રાખ્યો છે. તેઓ એક પ્રતિભાશાળી લેખિકા છે, જેઓ લઘુકથાઓ, નિબંધો, બાળવાર્તાઓ, હાસ્ય લેખો અને નાટકો જેવી વિવિધ સાહિત્યિક શૈલીઓમાં સર્જન કરે છે. તેમના લેખો મુંબઈ સ્થિત જનમભૂમિ–પ્રવાસી અખબારમાં નિયમિત પ્રકાશિત થાય છે, જ્યારે તેમની લઘુકથાઓ આસવ નામના કૉલમ હેઠળ પ્રસિદ્ધ થાય છે. ૨૦૧૦થી તેઓ વડોદરા પરથી પ્રકાશિત થતી પખવાડીય ભૂમિપુત્ર સરવોદય મેગેઝિનના છેલ્લાં પાનાં પર લઘુકથા લખી રહ્યા છે.
ભૂમિપુત્રમાં પ્રકાશિત થયેલી તેમની ૪૦ લઘુકથાઓના સંગ્રહો તર્પણ (ભાગ ૧–૪) અને જાનિનાના હૈયામાં નામે પુસ્તકરૂપે પ્રકાશિત થયા છે. તેમણે બકુલા ઘસવાલા સાથે મળીને કિશોરીઓ અને મહિલાઓ સંબંધિત વાર્તાસંગ્રહો અદિતિ ભોયના રાતફૂલ અને ગાંઠે બાંધ્યા અગનફૂલનું સહસંપાદન કર્યું છે. સર્વ શિક્ષા અભિયાન અંતર્ગત તેમણે મેઘધનુષી પાંખો અને ખોબો ભરીને ખુશી નામની બાળવાર્તા પુસ્તકો લખ્યાં છે. ઉપરાંત, શિક્ષક સમુદાય અને માતાપિતાને અનુકૂળ પુસ્તકો માટે વાર્તાઓ લખી છે તથા કેટલાક લેખો અને પુસ્તકોનું અનુવાદન પણ કર્યું છે.
