Kanan Mistry

Kanan Ramkrishna Mistry is an independent researcher, educator in the field of ancient Indian history, culture, and archaeology. A postgraduate from the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, she specializes in temple architecture and iconography, with a particular focus on the tradition of Sun worship in Gujarat. This subject forms the core of her on-going doctoral research.  

She has published research papers in national and international journals and has contributed to projects that bridge academic scholarship with public engagement in India’s cultural heritage. She also conducts workshops for children and heritage enthusiasts, fostering awareness and appreciation of India’s rich archaeological and historical legacy.  

Alongside her research work she also is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer and has keen interest in diverse Indian arts and crafts.
